I'm not too much into technical details but love to listen to clear and perfect music and would like to make sure that i'm getting value for money...

Has anyone tried this combination. Are they good when played together ?
I read somewhere else that they are not good together (something like yamaha is bright and infinity is warm and so on so forth... i'm recalling from memory so my description might be wrong)

Basically I want to use the good deal available at one site where i get 2 Infinity bookshelf speakers free with 2 Infinity Alpha 50 floorstanding

Does anyone know of some place where i can get good deal for Yamaha 2500 ? i'd like to stay away from shady dealers who just want to upsell other accessories etc.

actually it should work pretty well. Infinity's are generally considered nuetral, which doesn't go over well with many customers initially. with a bright receiver like the Yammie, the Alpha 50's won't exaggerate the the issue PROVIDED you give them a week to burn in.

mine were downright harsh on high ends when I first hooked them up (I seriously considered sending them back), but they smoothed out after about a week.

they are about two months old now and sound great (I have a Sony STDR-995 receiver)

you might check this thread for a little more info

I just bought my 2500 from soundpros.com in San Diego (by mail)...very easy to deal with...the unit just arrived (have not hooked it up yet)... 835 with shipping.

oops forgot to mention...my 2500 will be driving Infinity IL40s and matching center channel with Def. Tech surround and back surrounds.
