Yamaha 2500 Tone Control?

If you have the tone control set to speakers and then adjust one of the bass frequencies does it adjust just that frequency (say 125Hz) or that frequency and everything below it. To me the way it is graphed on the screen, it looks like it would be all frequencies less than or equal to 125Hz.

The tone controls boost or cut db's centered around three freq's each for bass and treble. Notice when you boost bass by 1db at the 125hz setting that the 350hz now has a gain of +1db? Same for treble. This is almost like tone controls of old Yamaha amps (1970's) way before surround a/v recvr's.
