Yamaha 2500 + Infinity TSS 750

Can someone please comment on this combination. After a lot of reading on this wonderful forum I have decided on this.
I have budget of $1000. Currently finding Yamaha 2500 for $579 and Infinity 750 for around $450.
Also am I fine buying Yamaha from "Authorised Electronics" , since Yamaha says warranty is off if not bought from any of the dealers suggested by them.
Please advise.

I would personally readjust your budget to allow for more money towards speakers and get a less expensive receiver.

Hi t3031999,
Thank you for your post. Do you recommend any better speaker package that will fit the bill. My friend has Infinity 750 and is very impressed with it.
Also, with that which receiver u think will be better at around $300-$400 range. How about Pioneer 1015 TX, Onkyo 602 etc.

I would look at the Axiom M22ti or M50. You would need a sub with the m22ti and I would recommend Hsu for that.
You could also look at Ascend Acoustics.

For a receiver, the yamaha rx-v2500 is an amazing receiver but you could also get the rx-v1500 or one of the htr series. I have a htr-5890 and absolutely love it.

The main thing with speakers is that they have to sound nice to you, go to your friends place and put on some of your music, and if you are completely happy with the sound of the infinity's, then get them.
But listen to every speaker you can to see what you like, no speaker will be perfect, but generally a few will stand out to you and then you start looking at other details about them.

I did browse the site axiom.com and find the speakers very tempting. Although I currently live in apartment. Do you think its an overkill in that case.
I mean its shooting my total budget quite high
$500 - HTR 5890
$440 - M22ti
$400 - some subwoofer

Then few more hundreads for centre channel and satellites right??

Is Athena Micra 6 better choice than Infinity 750. Brand as well as Model wise.

Sorry, I didn't even acknowledge your budget in my previous recommendations.

I think this system has better specs than the infinity TSS-750. But I haven't heard either.
I also think that the Micra 6 speakers are ugly, but if you're ok with that I would pick them up. Give them a really good listen before the return date passes.
The HTR-5890 is roughly the same as the rx-v1500, but it is very good receiver, so for $800 dollars (with the micra 6) you could put together a decent system.
