Any advice on the differences and best bet here? As far as I can tell they are basically very similiar in connectivity and the AV710 has all the new build construction features of the Aventage series for what ever that is worth. The one main difference I can see is that the Surround Power Watts are 125 x 7 on the less expensive RX-V671 and 90 X 7 on the more expensive A710. Stereo RMS Power Watts are 90x7 on both. The later has a 3 yr warrenty vs 2 yr on the V671.
RX-V671 is $499.00 and the A710 is $599.00.
Looking to hook'em up to the Pioneer SP-PK51FS in a 20'x20' or 400sq.ft. Room with cathedral ceilings. 2nd Zone speakers in kitchen for music.

Check out the Yamaha rx-a800. They're on Amazon less than $400.

generally, Yamaha receivers in the "A" series are better than their similar cousins in the "V" series.
