I've been lurking for a while here and reading through the archives. I'm rebuilding my system after moving into a new house and am on a budget. Don't remember all numbers, but currently have the BIC HT-75 towers, a Polk center and BIC HT-8c ceiling surround. Onyko 555 receiver.

After reading posts and reviews, I was leaning towards the Cadence XSUB for my sub. My question is, since I have the BIC towers and surround, is there any benifit at all from staying with BIC and getting the H100 sub? Both are in the same price range, so that's not a factor. I find less info about the H100, so don't know as much about it.

If there is nothing to gain by consistancy of brand, then I'll go with the XSUB. Thanks for helping a newbie.

There will be no benefit in staying with the same brand on a sub unless it's the one you want of course. People typically use the same brand/line of speakers for their main, center & surrounds because they are usually voiced in a similar fashion. Subwoofers are different, I think you should get what you feel is the best one you can afford. Right now for example there are a ton of people who are using SVS brand subwoofers & SVS does not make speakers at this time.

The sub can be any one you want. You would benefit more from matching your center to your mains.

PM Brian 32672. He just received the H100 sub last week. It sure is pretty, and has a massive rubber surround. He'll tell you honestly what he thinks of it. Those are most likely pretty evenly matched, but the finish on the H100 would look great with the rest of the Acoustechs.
