XM: Exterior Antenna?

I'm probably going to subscribe to both XM and a cable / dish service. Redundant? Maybe, but I'm a content hog.

Question: since the XM antenna needs to "see" the satellites, is there a dedicated exterior antenna to route the signal to the PrePro / AVR? What kind of cable to connect? What does a turnkey set-up look like?

Thanks!!

XM Antenna

I have an XM setup at home and haven't found a need for an external antenna. The sat antenna need a pretty good line of site (to the south west?) so if you have several walls or buildings in that direction, the external or remote mounted antenna might be necessary.

I have the Sirius version and have seen the XM version that looks pretty much like the same thing. It comes with its own cable you route to your stereo. The Sirius version doesn't seem to get better reception than the standard indoor/outdoor model that comes with every reciever. The main advantage to me is that the outdoor one is mountable.
