Xbox one video and sound splitting to separate projector…

Hi. Just inherited an Xbox one and would like to connect this up to my BenQ W100 projector and Technics sound amp. Both of these devices were bought in the mid 90s so a bit behind the current technology. However, I’m really happy with the image and sound quality from them and don’t really want to get rid of them.
Was hoping to use them with the outputs of an Xbox one so I can project the image onto a wall and have some Dolby surround.
Appreciate any proven set ups or convertors needed in order to make this happen. I did buy a hdmi splitter but the image was not stable or good at all.

I'm not sure what connectivity you have on your random Technics amp. But, the projector should be able to be connected directly to the XBox One and you should be able to see how good the image looks that way. This way you can confirm resolution and compatibility properly.

For audio, you should use the S/PDIF digital optical connection. There is no reason whatsoever to use HDMI if your old receiver doesn't support it. There is no sound advantage that HDMI offers you in this case.
