xantech 794 to Denon 3808-CI cable?

I have a Xantech 794 that is connected to a Niles IRP-6+ Infrared Extender which in turn is connected to a Niles IntelliPad in the house I recently bought.

I would like to connect the Xantech 794 to a Denon 3808-CI, so I can control the receiver using the existing remote control installation.

Everything is already wired except for the Xantech to Denon. Any idea what cable I would use?

Thanks!

the xantech is a trigger, correct? Niles keypads work off cat5 to a controller. The control unit then would control the denon

The Xantech 794 is the controller in this case but the block only has one IR output so they sent that to the IRP. I use a similar setup except I use a Niles MSU250 which has several IR outputs.

You can just use a miniplug from the IRP to the IR in on the back of the 3808. You will have to program the Intellipad which is a little tricky at first but once you go through it once it is not that bad. You will need the manual. I did not see it on the site so if you need it PM me and I can bring it in to work and scan it. You could also call Niles, they have great tech support and customer service.

Oh I see you can't PM me well let me know and I can PM you.

I think you need a niles multizone receiver, or similiar to program the pads. If the pads are older they might be learning, but the new ones are not. If you have the ir keypads, you can pass a signal thru, if they are not, use cat 5 to install the sensor to the niles key pad.

The standard Intellipad's are IR programable. I have a few of them and yes they use Cat5 wire that will go from the pad to the main system unit. The main system unit will output to the flashers or the IR input on the back of the source component.

The pads that have the Ci designation will require the Niles multizone receivers

I have the manual for the Niles as well as the Xantech.

Everything is already wired using Cat 5. As I said, the installation in the house is complete, by the previous owner. However, I have a different receiver (Denon 3808-CI), so I was trying to figure out what cable I needed to go from the Xantech to the Denon.

Thanks to these messages I think I finally found the right input on the Denon -- it is suspiciously labeled Remote Control input -- which in hindsight is pretty obvious -- but there are a MIGHTY lot of connectors on the back of this baby, and I only found it by looking at the schematic in the users manual. I probably would never have found it by just looking at the back of the box.

So, now I will get the right cable and attempt to get the programming set. Thanks for the tip that Niles has good customer service. I'll try the manual first, but if I can't succeed after several attempts I will give them a call.

BTW, the correct cable is a 3.5mm mono to 3.5mm mono cable. This is MONO, not a stereo cable. So, I could not find in local stores. Ordered one from Cables to Go. Interestingly, the mono cable is twice the price of the stereo cable. Guess they are not used nearly as frequently.
