Just picked up a pair of XAM Stereo Headphone model # HD-84. Can anyone tell me if they are any good for listening. Also, if they have any value.

If this is the XAM I recall. that was a house brand for a local department store, EJ Korvettes, in the late 60's/early seventies. Mediocre products at best. Nothing to write home about. IOW, don't quit your day job.
As for your question about listening, what do your ears tell you?
Persnoally, I'd say they are definitely better for listening than for use as a life preserver when in a sinking boat.
Of course, if this another XAM then all bets are off.
