I have my Yamaha surround amp rv363 programmed to adjust volume, mute, and power down. I can not get it to power up. Xfinity has no answer. Help?

Pretty succinct post, Billy. Are you trying to get the Yamaha to come on? What is “X1?” Why do you expect that Xfinity would know anything about your Yamaha?

Sorry. X1 is the new cable television platform from Xfinity/Comcast. It has its own remote for control of units. It will control Samsung tv, cable box, and some features of Yamaha amplifier. Thinking I might have to breakdown and buy new harmony. Thanks for the reply. bc

It sounds like you hoped the remote that comes with the cable box would operate everything. It won't.

Use multiple remotes, or, buy a decent universal remote... just don't expect it to EVER fully integrate with something as complicated as a receiver. There's too many controls for a third party to make a remote for.

Not yet, still trying. Can't believe in this day that it won't work. Thanks

Hey, Billy. My guess is that the X1 is programmed with the code for the "Power" button on your Yamaha remote, versus the "Standby" button (or maybe it's the other way around). If you hit the "Power" button on your original remote, can you turn the Yamaha back on from the remote? If so, can you turn the Yamaha on by hitting the "Standby" button? It has two buttons for a reason, and I have this vague recollection of one of my past receivers (could have been my Yamaha) needing to be powered up from the front panel if I hit the wrong power button on the remote.

If there is more than one set of codes for Yamaha in the X1 manual, I say try some others to see if they work for you.
