WTB: RF AC-3 demodulator.

I am planning on replacing my pre-pro with one that does not contain an RF
AC-3 demodulator. Since I have two LD players -- not to mention, a couple
of hundred LD discs -- I am in the market for a separate RF demodulator: a
small box with an RF AC-3 input and digital (coax or optical or both) output.
Pioneer RFD-1, Yamaha ADP-1, Kenwood DEM-999D or DEM-9991D, etc.

New ones abound, but are way too expensive. Anyone want to sell their used
demodulator?

hello,

try to find a "MARANTZ DP-870" processor. It will have everything you need.

Thaks for your reply, but actually, the DP-870 has only 5.1 discrete analog channel
outputs. What I am looking for is a decoder that has a standard digital output.

Even better would be a decoder that has both RF and digital inputs and would
automatically output either one, depending on whether the RF input is active. This
way, no additional switching is necessary. I believe both the Pioneer RDF-1 and the
Kenwood DEM-9991D work this way.

Anyone has an RF to AC-3 decoder they's like to part with?

The Sony SDP-EP9ES has a digital out (SPDIF). I can't recall if it passes the RF signal from this output though. If it does, I have one I would be willing to part with. Let me know if your interested. If so I could test this to confirm.
