WTB: Receiver...HDMI not necessary

I'm looking for a good quality receiver for my living room. My Plasma doesn't have HDMI...and really, I don't think I need it, I can live with component. I would like a hefty amp section as I am considering some onwall ML's to go with the TV and I hear they can be a pain to drive.

Let me know if anybody has something that might fit the bill.

Thanks,

Chris

You might want to give a ballpark as far as price. I have a Pioneer Elite 55txi that I'll soon be listing, though I haven't considered a price yet. Maybe I should heed my own advice and give a ballpark as far as price...:D

Price is always the kicker. It really just depends on what I would be buying. I probably won't spend over $200. However, I am not familiar with your model. I would have to do a bit of research to know what I would offer for yours. Thanks for checking with me.

I have a B&K AVR 307 that I may be listing in the coming months.

I bought it specifically because I was going to go with ML fronts and center. I love this receiver but I think I may be moving in the direction of separates with HDMI capability.

I would love to stay with B&K, but unfortunately they have not kept up with changes in technology.

Food for thought, but if HDMI isn't a concern then this may be the way to go. Not to mention, I've seen on e-bay and other sites where you can pick up a B&K 507, or 307 for cheap....considering they were +/- $3500.00 retail.

See if you can find a Yammy RX 659. I sold mine for 150 bucks and it is a heck of an AVR.

For 250.00 plus shipping you can own an Onkyo TX-SR703 THX select2 receiver.
Visit http://www.onkyousa.com/model.cfm?m=TX-SR703&class=Receiver&p=i for the impressive specs.
I used this for approximately 1.5 years in a pet/smoke free home using Pure Power filtering. I upgraded to a hdmi switching receiver and this is sitting unused.
All manuals, accessories, boxes and set up microphone is included.
If your real serious, I will unbox and take some pics.

I would buy it, but I couldn't go over $200...don't know if that would be fair to you.

Yep, I saw you selling that...I was SO close to jumping on it before it was sold. That was what I was primarily expecting to get. If only I hadn't hesitated. :(
