WTB: Emotiva XPA-5

Anyone know of anybody looking to sell their XPA-5?

There is one on the Emotiva emporium, but I think the asking price is a little high. Just in case you haven't seen it, here it is.

Thanks man! I've PM'ed both of the posters so hopefully they'll get in touch. Although their initial asking prices are a little too close to retail though.

I can't make any guarantees, but you might want to hold off for about a month or two. Emotiva has put all thier amps on sale around Thanksgiving the last two years in a row. The sale price is usually $699 + $25 shipping and you'd have a brand new amp for about what the used ones will cost you unless the sellers come down on their prices. From what I've seen in the last year, the XPA-5's usually go for $600-$650 + shipping. Calling Emotiva and asking about B-stock may be worth looking into as well. A final thought to make the decision more complicated is the sale price on the UPA-5 ($399 and free shipping). Don't know if it will be enough for your Axioms or not.

Hmm.... decisions, decisions. I'll weigh that possibility with the responses I get back from the sellers.

mention the fact that emotiva will be soon having sale prices on their amps and maybe you can get the sellers to reduce their price a bit.

I was think that I would mention that. I still haven't received a reply from either seller yet. I think I saw the same amp from the Emotiva Lounge site on Audiogon. I sent a PM to that one as well.

The UPA-5 is on sale for $399 for their Spooky Sale.

Yeah, I saw the UPA-5. I was tempted to go for it. But I know I will be moving to Paradigms in the future so I wanted to make sure I had a beefy amp for those as well as the Axioms I'm running now.

Looks like there is another XPA-5 on the Emotiva site and the asking price is much more reasonable than the two you were looking at.
