Would placing dual subs in back corners (one in each) be "seriously bad" for some reason?

Most guides suggest one of these four placements in below picture (from SVS manual) for dual subs. I have problem with that any front placement will cover screen, and side placement is also not an option (door, couch, other furniture).
Would placing them in the back corners be "seriously bad" in some terms? What will I miss theoretically?
I'm thinking about the SVS PB-3000. See my suggestion at bottom most picture, with blue subs.
(Smaller room 11.6 ft wide, 17.1 feet long and 6.7 feet high. Back of couch 6.5 feet from back wall)

Keep in mind those are just suggested starting points. The room controls where bass performs best and it’s rarely where they look good.
But to the question, no. Nothing wrong with rear placement arbitrarily speaking. I had two rear subs for a long time. Being closer to the lp can possibly help with TR. the only real way to know for sure is to get a umik and rew and find the best places by measuring frequency response. But there’s nothing technically wrong with it.

I completely agree with William. As someone who has an L shaped room in a semi finished basement with cement floors, it’s far from optimal for an Atmos system. That being said once I brought a MiniDSP 2x4HD into the loop in unison with a UMIK-1 and REW I was able to not only find the optimal placement for each of my 4 subs, but also have the output quantified on a computer screen for me to see and determine if say 3’ left or 2’ right is making a difference. Even with just a UMIK-1 and REW (I believe you can get a UMIK-1 for $100 or less shipped) it takes all the guess work out of multi sub setup and I highly recommend it.

Think I will have to do that. Love to get to know more like this, so that it'll actually be proved that the placements are OK, rather than just "guessing"

I have also been suggested the Behringer ECM8000. Any thoughts/ experience with that?
I have NO idea what to look for when looking for mics. Can just find a number of good reviews.

If you want to make it easy on yourself, just get the UMIK-1 from MiniDSP.

I put a pair of SVS PC-12 NSD speakers to the sides (roughly 4-5 feet) and just to the rear of a sofa in one of my systems because it was the only place they would fit in the room. It works surprisingly well. I'm sure it is not the optimum location, but it is still WAY better than no subs.

The cylindrical form seemed odd to me at first, but now I like it because of the small footprint.
