Is it worth the upgrade. I have athena as-f1, as-c1, as-r1 setup. That 1015 seems like an awesome receiver. I feel my onkyo is underpowered for my athena's. Will the Pioneer give my athena's a warmer sound. With the onkyo 502 they sound a little bright even with the treble down -6db.

Receivers like these don't have such signatures, that is just audio myth.
Whether or not you should get it depends on your speakers impedance, its sensitivity, the volume you listen at, how far from the speakers, the power of the two components. Room acoustics and speakers, along with the quality of the recording is what you hear.
