Working with a snake oil salesman

So I work for a commercial printing company. We do labels for all kinds of products, medical devices, electronics, wine labels, etc.

Yesterday I had a guy come in that needed an overlay for his Audimeter. We gave him a quote and he wants to buy. I checked out his website and he sells those ridiculously overpriced cryogenically treated cables and a $15,000 2 channel amp!!! I want to tell the guy to take his business and shove it up his ass! Oh well.

Probably not a good idea to name names and sabotage a business deal since you are only an employee and not the business owner. This audio guy might track the hits coming to his site from your post, and he will put two and two together, pull the deal, and leave bad feedback against the company you work for. I would edit your post and remove the link.

You're probably right J. Thanks for the advice. Better safe than sorry.

Well, obviously you just need to be sure to show how superior and mystical your labels are as compared to the competition!

Only a fool wouldn't realize how much better your special hot-dipped labels are as compared to others. That 200% upcharge for these double-special labels is a steal!

:D

Yeah it's kinda funny. At first he kinda balked at our pricing, (we're generally known as being more expensive than the other guy but we leverage that against our technical expertise and service). I thought, "Really, you're complaining about spending $500 on some labels when you sell amps at $15,000 a pop???

As long as they're paying its bad business to alienate the fringe groups.

You should tell him that, for a slight additional cost, you'll use a special ink that will improve the sound of his product.

I wonder what fridge brand they use, certainly the type of freezer has a clear effect on the cable's audio capabilities? ;)
