The other day I was listening to some electronic music (EDM) at a pretty loud level using dsu and the speakers had inadvertently been set to full band after a firmware update. A loud bass drop below the tuning of my center channel hit and the woofers bottomed our, giving a loud clacking sound.
The speaker sounds fine and pushing in on the woofers shows no rubbing or anything, but what’s the likelihood that some level of VC former deformation is inevitable from a single bottoming event, even if there’s no audible problems with the speaker?
