So you are a victim of a sexual assault. Your DNA from the rape kit is put into the forensics database, and years later you are arrested for a crime based on that.

I knew there was some scummy law enforcement practices but this and civil asset forfeiture takes the cake.

Why would your DNA need to be cataloged? The police already know who you are.
