I owe you guys some reviews! With Halloween around the corner, the horror movies may be on your rental list....
One which may (I will explain later why I say 'may') be worth checking out is Wolf Creek, an Australian independent film that tells a 'what might of happened' with three travelers in the Outback who disappeared.
The movie starts as sort of fun, realistic of the age group, but certainly with clues that something doesn't seem right. You just sort of 'have a bad feeling' about these kids, even beyond what you'd expect from a standard horror film. Hints, that aren't too overdone, keep it along the lines of creepy for the first half. The second half, is extremely brutal (high 'walk-out' rate, according to the directors commentary ....hey, I was bored) and I have to say that I was left feeling some of it was a bit for just brutality alone. I didn't gain any insights into a, or 'the,' human condition... of have any commentary on anything. That's my main gripe, but I still found it to be recommended to those who want to see an interesting horror:
It doesn't have a Blu-Ray release that I know of, but it looked okay on Standard DVD. They got some nice shots, and the camera work isn't overdone.
7/10 - Worth a rent if you can stomach it.
