Contemplating Purchase of Wilson Audio Maxx 2 @ or Alexandria, now I am reading article about Status Acoustics new Titus speakers , what is the trade off as the Maxx 2 and the Titus are similar in cost which actually sound better ?

Thanks

I have never heard the Status Acoustics Titus but I have heard the Wilsons on a few different occasions and each time was more impressed than the last. All of these speakers will be as good as the associated equipment lets them be. No room here for whinpy little $5000 amps and pre's, if you arent using big Lamm's or FM Acoustics with the proper pre's, source player, cabling, room treatment, etc................then you are missing the boat with speakers such as these. If it were me, I would go with the Wilson. Not that the RBH is inferior acousitcally in any way I'm sure, its just I couldnt deal with having that big phallic symbol  in my listening room all the time!

John,

If you have that kind of budget, I would consider some other speakers as well.

mbl 101e
Rockport Antares
Rockport Arrakis

The MBL is an omipolar design that will, in a properly set up room, provide very lifelike sound that will transport you to the original event.

The Rockport speakers take resonance control to an insane level. They should sound very, very neutral.

Oh, and don't forget to budget for the second most important component....an acoustically proper dedicated room.

What kind of components are you planning to use? If you can plop down $50k+ for a set of speakers, I'd like to know what the rest of the setup is going to be like.

I think I would go with the phallic symbol!! Those look pretty beastly in the audioholics review.
