Hi All, I need some advice from u experts, The Bose's AM10 speakers system comes with special cable to connect the module/bass to the receiver, (and not the speakers directly to the receiver) besides the Subwoofer’s cable which is RCA the rest will come splited to +/- , while the Yamaha's RX V-1000 receiver instructs that in case of external decorder (can the module be considered as such?) to connect the cables to “PreOut” connectors which are all RCA, and not to the speakers connectors.
Can some1 please advice what’s the best way to connect between the two?
BTW. Is the AM10's sub ActiveSub?

Thanks,

Heh, I started looking at the Bose site earlier when I was at work and my coworker saw me looking at the AM10 stuff. He promptly asked me WTF I was doing. I quickly had to explain I was trying to help someone on the forum. Unfortunately, Bose has no rear panel shots of the Acousticrap Module so I was at a loss for what to do. My coworker suggested that you throw it in the dumpster :p

Sorry man. I don't know what to say.

Thanks for the prompt answers, like all things in life one should be ready some compromises, and this time with my wife that insisted that the speakers wont take much space… :)
Can you please help me with the connections on the yamaha's side?

Thanks

If I'm not mistaken...which I might be (I've only ever hooked up one of these) Just take the Speaker outs from the Receiver to the Bose Sub (if you want to call it that...having 5.25" woofers....ha, a sub) If anything you might blow up the Bose and have to buy something else :D

Just hook up the speaker cables that go from the receiver to the "Bass Module". You are correct that with an external processor you should run RCA's, but the AM 10 is not a processor just really a crossover that takes all the bass out of the cubes. You can wire the speakers directly to the receiver just make sure you change all settings to small and/or adjust the crossover setpoints accordingly. I'll tell you from experience, you don't want one ounce of bass hitting those cubes.

Sorry, I forgot to say that you do hook the Bass Module to the Sub pre-out, via RCA, because it is now powered. If you have a better sub that you will be using with the system you will not have to use the RCA. Also, if you are wiring the Cubes through the Bass Module you can change the setting on your receiver to Large speakers to get an increased output from the Bass Module.
