Wiring a sub with unfinished walls

I am wiring my home theater area of my unfinished basement. I have wired everything except the sub. How should this be wired. I would like to have an rca in the wall to plug the sub into the wall but i do not know what kind of wire i should run from my command center closet to the jack. Or, should I just wire it like a speaker?

Thanks for any help!

You should use RG-6 coaxial cable - the same stuff you run to your cable box or satellite receiver. The cable can be terminated with an F-type connector (screw on type) like you hook to your cable box, then for the wall plate, use a F-type to RCA wall jack. Works great!

Don't forget that your subwoofer needs power. So, be sure to pull power right next/near the RCA jack for the sub.

I would definately not use the same type of RG6 that is run for sat or cable. Use solid core RG59. Then terminate the ends like BMXTRIX suggested.

Here is what I'm talking about:

It is not the same as the RG6 or RG59 used in cable and sat installs. This RG59 is what companies use to make most interconnects... like sub cables. It's solid core with a 95% braid.
