Hey, all. Mike C's post about the new wireless Hsu subs got me thinking about this stuff again, and I'd like to tap into any knowledge that you have.
What I would like to do is transmit an audio signal from the front of my living room to the back. At the back, I'll connect the signal to an amp and run my two rear speakers. I'd also like the option of sending a third audio signal for a sub. The products that I've found that do two channels and that seem like possible candidates are:
1. Soundcast AudioCast (
$179 at Amazon): The iPod version called the iCast has a few reviews out there that talk about great sound quality and no interference because of the spread spectrum transmission.
2.
Amphony Model 1500 ($90 from manufacturer): Uses 5.8GHz, but I haven't found any reviews of this model.
Both of those are two-channel transmitters/receivers. The AudioCast can have two transmitter/receiver systems in use, thus giving me four channels (so, two rears, a sub, and one unused channel) - but that would be pricey.
I'm wondering if any of you are using wireless systems that transmit line-level signals like I'm looking to do, and if so, what your thoughts are on them.
Thanks!
Adam
P.S. Last year, I bought enough flat copper speaker wire to run connections under my carpet (when I get new carpet), but I'd like to avoid the hassle if possible.
