i got a sony receiver, i just am trying to find out what i need to make it so i can put my surround speakers (the ones that go behind me) behind me without having the wire running accross the room. my friend told me about a wireless hub that will communicate with the receiver, but i cant seem to find anything. any suggestions would help, keep it cheap too. thanks

Hello,

Wireless technology is just starting to become viable for the transmission of audio signal in the home theater environment, but good wireless transmitters and receivers are expensive. Even the expensive wireless systems should only be considered as a last resort. Interference and lackluster signal to noise ratio are major factors that make the transmission of audio via wireless less than desirable. Post a photo of you room and let’s see if we can figure out a hard wired solution before you consider wireless. PM me when you post the picture, as I have a hard time keeping up with the e-mailed tech support questions from various web sites. ;)

It is wireless implementation of a T-amp.

and only $99
A little light on the power and specs, but still and all, a step above some HTIB units and just the ticket for non-critical users.

Do you know if it has line outs so you can use other amps?

I emailed them and asked them to build one with RCA stereo pre-outs instead of the 20 watt amp. Maybe they will. It would be a popular product.

That could be very good news.

If it's a quiet system, has the frequency response and range they state, then that would solve a lot of problems. That and a simple, inexpensive power/integrated amp would answer a lot of surround speaker problems.

Of course, it wouldn't be totally wireless. A power socket will have to be available for the receiver and amp, as will wires from the receiver to the amp and from the amp to the speakers.

...keep us posted.

If they reply to me, I'll let you know. That e-mail was just a late night brain-fart. But if they build it, I am very likely to buy it.
