Wireless 5.1 solution?

Trying to convince a coworker to move beyond sound bars into a real multichannel system, but wires are a big issue for him, he rents an apartment so running wires in the walls are a no go. The best solution I’ve found thus far would be the Klipsch premier hd wireless system, while it is a fine system, I’m wondering if a more cost effective solution, such as a wireless transmitter receiver with an amplifier exists, allowing more budget to be put into speakers and speaker options to not be limited by wireless only options.

Any ideas

There amplifiers that are meant for wireless rear channel from PE and others (google). Why not just start him out with a good 3.1 system first? That would be a tremendous upgrade from a soundbar. Since no budget was given its hard to recommend anything.
