k here's the situation, quick responses would be ideal since i'm heading out to home depot soon :p

anyways, my room is pre-wired all around for speakers, so wires run to designated spots then back through the wall to the front of the room where the receiver will be

at the front of the room there is a jumble of wires sticking out of the wall from the varrying speakers, etc.

now..is there a plate or terminal i can buy to run them all through to clean it up? perhaps like that installs into the wall??

if so could somone please link me somthing they recomend either on a companies site or ebay??

at home depot they have somthing similar to what i'm looking for that tidy's it up, but it's very expensive and i will have to buy multiples of them for it to work with the amount of wiring I have

Sorry, since you are on your way out, don't make rush decisions, wait until you get some feedback:D

There are all kinds of different wall plates available but you need to decide what you want.

So all the wires emerge from the wall behind the receiver. But, how? Is there just a giant hole there or is it a single gang or double gang junction box? The type of box that is there along with how many wires will determine what you can buy to clean it up. Is it all just speaker wire or do you also have coax cable or Cat5 wire?

Home Depot sells Leviton wall plates and jacks and they are fine. I don't like their speaker binding posts though because they are the type that has a tiny little set-screw to hold the wire in the back of the binding post. PartsExpress, Monoprice, SmartHome, Crutchfield, you name it all sell different types of wall plates.

If the wires are in a double gang junction box, you could buy something like this: http://www.partsexpress.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?&Partnumber=300-616

You could also make the same kind of thing by buying the wall plates and binding posts separately. I have two sets of 4 binding posts in the double gang opening behind my AV rack and other wall plates with two binding posts for the surrounds.

If you go to PartsExpress and search for 'decora' you will find the many options they sell. I like the wall plates and binding posts they sell much better than the Leviton. Monoprice.com sells what looks to be identical but is a few bucks cheaper.

the first run I did a spent a lot of money on wall plates and variuos "fancy" stuff. The second time I used $2 pass through plates.
