I've googled this and can't find the darn answer. It defaults to German and I can't figure out how to switch it to english. Irgendeine Hilfe wäre groß. (I think I murdered that, oh well.)

I know, the bleeding obvious, but have you tried uninstalling and then reinstalling messenger? This is assuming it's not a built in part of the operating system which I don't know. You may have done this too, but I Google "groups" sometimes when regular Google does not get me what I need. Good luck with it Matt.

3 times! The first download I didn't check if I downloaded the english version, but after that I made sure it was. That is all I'm getting from other sources on the internet is that make sure you download the correct version.

Do you have German language input enabled on your computer?

Most software installers nowadays contain more than one user interface language. The good ones let you pick which language version to install. The lame ones defaults to your OS's default language (sometimes it just chooses one of the languages installed on your OS at random, go figure).

If nothing else solves your problem. Temporarily uninstall your other language inputs, install MSN messenger, then reinstall your other language inputs.

Everything in Regions and Languages under the control panel are set to English and I did download the (EN) English version. I'll see if I can delete the other langauge settings and reinstall it.
