Will this Panny Bar work with this Vizio TV?

I'd like to get the Panasonic SC-HTB500 speaker bar for use with my Vizio "320" LCD TV (about a year old and not an "ARC" TV).

The descriptions/reviews talk about connecting the Panny with an HDMI. One mini-review at Amazon says all you need is an HDMI cable and an optical cable.

My Vizio TV an optical connector for digital audio out and RCA jacks for analog audio out. BTW, I also have a Panny BD player hooked to the TV via HDMI.

I'm a PC tech geek but this stuff is greek to me. I've tried to find info on connecting this speaker bar but all I get is "use an HDMI cable", which I think, would not work with my TV.

Can anyone lead me out of the forest here? If I can't figure out if that speaker bar is truly compatible, I'll have to get a Vizio speaker bar but would much rather prefer the Panny.

I don't know what the digital vs. analog audio out relates to so I'm not sure if just an optical cable would work.

You can check if your TV has the HDMI input, and you can use VGA link to your TV.

From all the research I've done reading people's posts on this speaker bar, it seems I will have to connect an optical cable from the TV to the speaker bar and hope that "everything's covered" in terms of sound.
