Will this amp do the job?

I'm building a very small system for when I'm on the treadmill. I got my two little speakers set up but I'm missing a little bass. I have a small 6.5 inch Koss sub cone just lying around doing nothing so I thought of buying a small amplifier for it. I found a brand new car amp on ebay for only 16 dollars (I've bought a few items from the same seller so I know it'll be in good shape). Here it is...http://cgi.ebay.ca/NEW-300-WATT-RMS-MINI-SIZE-CAR-STEREO-POWER-AMPLIFIER_W0QQitemZ330080222489QQihZ014QQcategoryZ4950QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Now would that amp but able to plug into the wall (with an adapter of course) and does it look good to you? Thanks!

I read your last thread so i know a bit about what your trying to do with the computer/reciever,it would help alot if you would list what reciever you have along with the model number plus a budget that you have to get this done.

Correct me if im wrong but the way it looks is that your just trying to use things that are laying around the house to get this treadmill system together which there is nothing wrong with doing that just dont expect too much.

I looked at the amp in the link & to run a 6.5 inch koss "subwoofer" it would be ok but in all honesty that amp is a mess, keep in mind that if you do buy that amp it will not be very good at all for car audio applications making it useless should you ever want to use it for something else,my experience with trinkets like that amp is that they end up in a closet till they get tossed out.

With the cost of the amp plus shipping & the cost of a power converter to drop your 110 volt down to 12 volt your easily looking at $70 or better, for that amount you could buy a real home audio amp(used) & not have to rig anything up.

Thanks for the suggestions highfihoney. I decided to not rig anything up at all as my buddy gave me a 3 way 6x9 speaker that actually does a decent job. Now all I need is a treadmill that has wheels on it so I can stroll it into my living room where my real soundsystem is.:p

Where's the Professor when you need him?

If you hook an alternator up to that treadmill, you could power the amp

Maybe a couple of coconut batteries, ala Gilligan's Island............;)
