Thread title says it all

(btw, new here, hi!)

I'm looking to upgrade my home theater. Currently I only have an 816 and think its time to upgrade to hdmi and all that jazz; as well I'm looking to upgrade to a Klipsch X series speaker setup so its time to upgrade the receiver / amp end as well.

That said, like the title says, will this piece of hardware drive my Sennhieser HD650 headphones properly? I hate the idea of buying a headphone-amp and would prefer to have one solution for my home theater et al.

If this isn't right for me, what should I be looking at? (1k budget max)

thanks in advance :)

How much headphone listening do you do? The headphone amps in receivers are generally kind of an afterthought, but they work. If you are just using it late at night for TV so you don't wake up your girlfriend or something, the receiver headphone amp will be fine.

Rolls makes a decent headphone amp for cheap that is well made. It is actually a four headphone amp for studios, but, you can just use one channel.

I use my headphones just about all the time. I was looking into getting a portable (headphone) amp for my laptop use, but I see myself using the headphones for my home theater very regularily (so nobody wakes up + i listen to a lot of metal....loudly...)
