Trying to connect a wii to my hd panasonic 1080 and a yamaha rxv565 and I can't get video and sound together just individually. I also have a componet cable for the wii. I'm also using hdmi cables from sat receiver, t.v. and receiver

Well, comopnent video doesn't pass audio. You need to run audio interconnects as welll.

Check Yamaha's website. They have a firmware update that you will need to download and install in your receiver. This will allow you to use one of your component video inputs and pair it with one of your stereo audio inputs. I had to do the same thing to mine to use my Wii with the component cable. It works just fine.
