I have a somewhat smart TV with a number of apps like Amazon and Netflix that we use.
A while back bought a soundbar with optical connection. Also have a Tivo that we use to watch TV through and a BD player. All fine and dandy.
Received an Avantree headphone with Bluetooth for Christmas. Optical to DA>optical to soundbar. Analog to Bluetooth. All fine and dandy with the headset on BD and TV.
Last night tried Amazon app. No sound through headset.
Soundbar works as before.
Called Avantree tech today. Oh, you have to reassign optical again for the apps.
What? Digital signal is going to soundbar, BD digital still works into headset.
OK, went to audio setup while in Amazon app activated. Unable to change audio setting that has ext. audio set and digital out.
Then I experimented. Went back to original TV speakers on, no ext. speaker. Went to Amazon app and then I was able to modify the audio setup: ext speaker, digital PCM out.
Now everything works.
Why the need to redo audio in app mode? If I was scratching my head, and Avantree tech wasn't clear on how, what would others do with less knowledge? Brrrr
