Don't forget, an awesome System sounds so much better in your own home !!

I didn't get my first awesome setup until I was almost 40, but my house had to come first.. :)

Choose Wisely !!!

BTW Mazer... you always make my day with those goofy pics you come up with !!!! Awesome

When I found this site in January of this year, I had a Bose as my main system. Since then, I've spent...well, I don't even want to think about that right now.

what did you end up getting anyway?

more importantly, what subwoofer? :)

I started with a budget of 400-500 bucks for a subwoofer.

try to buy everything before getting married if you think the new wife is gonna be an obstacle to your audio purchases :)

spend it all, soon she's gonna be your banker/investor.

"oh, that's not a good investment"

"diamonds are forever"

hahaha

just kidding.

just make sure you have some money off the records, in the bedpost, up in the ceiling ... stuff like that. :)

the best thing is she wants me to get what i want... she said might as well get what you want instead of upgrading every time...

i asked my fiancee (my wife now) if I should get a Velodyne DD15 or DD18 ... she said she was gonna front the difference between the two, she said I should get the 18. hehe, she must have thought that would shut me up about subwoofers.

her mistake. :)

i did get the 18 though.

im trying to find out what i should do for the front speakers...

i want something big that looks sexy.... something sleak... the RTi12s look good... but i dont know they say you need some monster receivers or buy amps to power them.

yup, the Rti12 sure looks nice, especially without the grill! if you crossover the speaker at 80hz, you might not need an external amp. especially if you are getting a decent receiver

pics of the Rti10

Not sure if you are in an apartment now, but just think how loud you can listen to your media if you have your own house. I have neighbors all around me and I hate it! !am a few years away from a house, but that would be incentive enough for me

That's the smartest thing that's been written on this board all morning :D.

And yes, I spent 17 years of my life living in NJ (including 3 in Hoboken which shouldn't really count) so I can bash the place all that I want!!!

dont get me wrong, ill be moving to work there next year with my company, but i rather live in Brooklyn where my family is.

no one drives and everyone wants to be close, and that will sure help once the kids come into the picture.
