Why not just ignore JL?

It’s a shame that having someone on your ignore list does not mean that their posts won’t show up when they’re quoted. We all know Jerry loves confrontation, to the point where he invents it if none exists, and then claims innocence when everyone is riled up.

I invite all of you to do as I have – put the man on your ignore list, and his comments will go unread, as they should.

Is the reason you want others to also put him on his ignore list is because, just like you, they are unable to rebuke what he says and that this fact upsets you?

You know, your post reminds me how much it annoys me that mediocrity seems to be so accepted amongst so many people, and even more annoying, they think a strawman argument will convince anyone with an ounce of common sens. That said, sadly, all it takes is a few other morons to **** pile someone and then even though the argument was never rebuked, a person can be ostracized and supposedly discredited.

It happened throughout history, catholics burning people based on accusations of heresy, witchcraft, it's happening today, and will probably always happen, as long as there's weak minded imbeciles who's only possible way of countering an argument is trying to silence others using the only means they are capable of...

You do realize that your post is an adhom right? You accuse him of: "loving confrontation, to the point where he invents it if none exists, and then claims innocence when everyone is riled up." without backing up any of the claims. And you suggest that everyone put him on their ignore list...

If what he says is so wrong, just quote it and rebuke it... After a while, after getting proved wrong over and over again, he'll just eventually go away with his tail between his legs. Oh but no wait, that would be more work than simply making blind accusations and trying to get other people to bring out their torches and pitchforks and burn him at the stake...

I've never had anyone on my ignore list. After all, how can I claim to be so bored if I ignore people? I figure, if I don't care to read what they say, I just don't read it. I don't have anything personal against anyone here, but I certainly don't agree with everything that is posted.

I generally ignore long posts with point-by-point arguments like you'd hear in high school debate because they typically (IMO) miss the big picture point of the discussion - they just try to get one up on somebody on some very specific and sometimes (if not generally) irrelevant point.

Then again, I also tend to blow past any long post. I just don't have the attention span.

You’re wrong – people have rebuked his outlandish claims, and yet he continues to argue, for the sake of arguing. I simply suggest a way to not have to be bothered by his arrogance. I’m not telling people they must ignore him, but if they find him to be truly annoying... I merely point out an option, and each person can do whatever they decide.

But hey, since you two seem like two peas in a pod…

Haha, I was being sarcastic btw I think it's highly unlikely that everything JL writes is wrong, and given this thread, even more unlikely that it'll get disproved if it is. In the other Obama blunder thread, he seemed to get quite a few thanks, and I personally thought he made a lot of sens on a lot of issues.
