It's the Classic Statement.......

New to the Home theater scene....Need help selecting Surround Sound speakers. leaning towards PSB, Paradigm, Axiom, and Infinity. Any Ideas ?
My room is 17' x 15'. Towers possible, but bookshelves maybe more practical.

Any and all help, welcomed.

All that you mentioned are good quality speakers. I say go for the CANADIAN ones though eh!!
Seriously though, no one can tell you what speakers to buy. Go and listen for yourself. Auditioning is half the fun.

All the speakers manufactures you have listed are good ones. First thing to do is set your speaker budget (which IMHO should be about 70% of your total audio system budget), then, to build on what Crashguy said audition, audition, audition. What sounds good to me may sound terrible to you, trust only YOUR ears.

PSB and Paradigm should sound very similar (sourcing many of the same parts), and cost about the same. Infinity should ring-in a a few dollars more, but use their own ceramic/metal woofer creations and they sound different. I have not heard Axioms.

But no matter which of the four you go with they are all quality build and very fairly priced MSRP. If I were you I'd be easily swayed to one or the other if there was a significant sale for one of the brands...otherwise I could flip a coin and not loose any sleep over the end result.

Except for a subwoofer. Normally I'd suggest the subwoofer-specific companies SVS & HSU Research, but Axiom does have a pair of impressive looking units; the Epicenter EP500 and EP600 (If only I had the $$$ for an EP600) :D
