Why is my centre speaker low.

I am having trouble with my centre speaker but only when used through dvd player. I have a Samsung dvd850hd which is conected through a optical cable to my Teac amp and through HDMI to my Hitachi HD plasma.All speakers work fine except the center which seems to be low in volume and has to be individuly turned up through the amp. I run the same set up for my LG pvr with optical to the amp and HDMI to the plasma and have no worries.
PLEASE HELP!!!

Have you level matched all your speakers? If you haven't done this yet you may find the center needs to be higher in volume to match the rest of your system.

Are you using any DSP modes for one or the other? Are you able to play the same material through both units to compare them directly? What model is your Receiver?

unable to play the same media through both the dvd player and the pvr. amp is Teac AG-D9260, would trying a coax lead be worth a shot.
