Why I Like My Old RP CRT

Hey everyone! Been about forever since I posted and will no doubt take heat for such a thread title... :D Really kinda funny though. I was in a Best Buy over the weekend and, as always, gravitated over to the latest "sexpot" flat screens. As drool met my check book, I, as always, left empty handed...waiting for the day when the check book has the cushion for a well deserved splurge into the world of Panny plasmas. But I have to say, as I sit here watching my 10-year old 56" JVC rear-projection CRT, that I keep dialed in now and again with that old Avia DVD we all used to use, I have to admit that it retains a luster similar to those who appreciate vinyl over CD or MP3. Yes...it's definitely a "softer" picture....but it really is a damn fine picture. One day I'll be able to make the switch....but in the meantime, I can still appreciate the old girl! :D

I can sympathize. My old 65" Hitachi HD Projection still put out a great picture. Man, that was/is a good TV. I finally caved due to a lack of HDMI connections and the fact it was of those big old units that had the screen sitting a good 38" from the wall. I just didn't have that rooms space. If not for those two things, I'd probably still have it.
