Why are my rear speakers and front speakers in sync?

I have wired up my surround sound system exactly how each port on the back of the receiver with what it says.

(For example: Front left, Front right, Surround left, surround right, centre, Rear left, rear right, and subwoofer)

I have used a calibration microphone and my rear speakers seem to be much louder than my front speakers. I can’t seem to “add” my rear speakers in the manual audio settings but when I go to adjust my volume of each speaker the front and rear speakers are in sync.... can someone tell me when I’m doing wrong?

Should I just wire my rear speakers and my surround speakers in opposite so I can make the front and surround speakers stay in sync and lower the sound of my rear speakers seeing as I can adjust my surround speakers?

Try factory resetting the receiver and run eq again

By "in synch", do you mean the adjustments change the front and rear? If so, look in the amplifier settings.

What brand and model of AVR are you using?

I’ve tried resetting multiple times. I’ve tried activating my rear speakers but for some reason it doesn’t let me... and by in sync I mean, when I adjust the volume of my front speakers, it adjusts my rear speakers as well

So I can’t adjust my rear speakers to be a bit quieter because they are closer to me and they sound overpowering... my front and rear speakers are on the exact same setting for volume adjustment if you get me

Are your speakers all configured to small? Maybe configuration wise make the fronts large and everything else small. I believe that has more to do with crossover frequency, but who knows. Give it a shot

Make sure you dont have any bi-amp option enabled.

When you run the auto setup, is the sound correctly placed and sound like it should for all speakers?

might give that a go actually. I read that I should always put all speakers to small for my subwoofer to produce more sound. Thanks for the tip! Im very new to all this and trying to work it all out
