Aaaaaaah yes....

With the recent 4th discussions, I couldn't resist to ask if anyone has special fireworks display plans in their neighborhoods? Fireworks are legal in my community....plus there are plenty of kids....so tonight will be a busy night in my neighborhood!! I live in a cul-de-sac with a bunch of families with kids, and we always all set our stuff off together in the middle of the circle.
(it's always a hoot)

Our entire neighborhood will be lit up....LOL

Watching the joy on all the children's faces really makes this a special time for me:) It's something they'll always remember and think fondly of when they think back on their childhood years.

I for one, have many of those very same fond memories from when I was a youngin':cool:

Meanwhile there are fireworks going off right now even though they are illegal. Good times :).

I can remember as a kid look down my street and seeing all kinds of fountains through a haze of smoke. That was probably 10 years ago now we have to go to the high school or some other big venue to see fireworks and even though the fireworks are much bigger nothing beats the smell of burnt sulfur and the excitement of running from a lit fuse.

We're having a party, but given the high level of fire hazard in CA these days, we plan to watch the official display and work on lightening the load on the beer cooler. :cool:

What in the heck kind of college has finals during the 4th of July??????????

Most universities only have one summer session, and they typically run from June-August.....(most universities dont reach summer break until mid may/june)

By this week.... you should just be barely hitting full stride of the summer session:cool:

How can you have finals in the first week of july?

Here is our summer schedule:
* May 14, Mon. - Classwork begins, Session I
* May 28, Mon. - University holiday, offices closed.
* June 11, Mon. - Classwork begins, Session II.
* July 4, Wed. - University holiday, offices closed.
* Aug. 4, Sat. - Summer Commencement.

Since I am in term one which normally ends two weeks ago I should have been in the clear, but since the class is more in depth they decided to extend it so i get screwed out of a vacation.

LOL well that doesn’t surprise me it usually rains on November 5th “guy fawkes” night. It must be the leftover rain we’ve had that passed over pond sorry but we’ve had rain here for over a week now cats and dogs.

Happy 4th of July and play safe with fireworks!:)
