Just wondering, the order date is quickly approaching.... I plan on placing my order soon after they are announced... Anyone else jumping on one?

I love the matte finish they use... this sub should match my towers perfectly...

Well, it's SVSound, so be prepared for a long wait if you order right away!

"Late Q2, 2011" in SVS language probably means February 2013.

Could be worse though, it could be Emotiva - where people literally waited 3 full years for the UMC-1s they ordered!

Seriously, I don't know why these ID companies give out ETAs that they never, ever meet. Well...scratch that...I know they give them out so that blindly optimistic fans will place pre-orders and then wait...and wait...and wait. I guess the idea is to try and get people to not order from a competitor who actually has stock and then string them along by constantly saying, "it'll just be one or two more months! Honest!".

Personally, I don't consider any product unless I can order it right now and get a guarantee that it's in stock and ready to ship.

I was considering one or two when I first started researching for my home theater, but at $699 MSRP, I think I'd rather have an Epik Empire for $100 + extra shipping costs more.

Or for a little less you could pick up the HSU VTF-3/3 or Outlaw LFM-1 EX.

I was thinking about pulling the trigger on one of these but I'm not patient enough to wait however long one of these will take. Hsu had the VTF 3 in stock so I went with that instead.

I've been saving up my spare dollars and paying off bills to budget a new sub in the next month or month after. So it may be in stock when i'm ready to buy one. I'm wanting ported box for mainly HT/tv use.

Anyone more tech savy than me point out some notable diffrences betwen hsu vtf3 and the svs pb12. It's a hard decision especially if hsu is still on sale when i'm ready to buy. Aesthetically I kinda like svs over hsu but performance trumps basic looks usually.

I haven't heard the PB12, but I did have a Elemental Designs A3-300 for awhile (which is nearly identical in design), and I do own a couple VTF3s, so I will just comment on those. Output-wise they are pretty similar. They both had good sound quality too, although they didn't sound exactly alike, and on this point I preferred the VTF3, although the difference wasn't huge. The VTF3 handled deep bass better (in max extension mode), at high output it is not hard to get the A3 to chuff below 20 hz, from the text tones I ran. You can get the VTF3 to chuff too, but it is less audible and it has to be pushed harder to reach that point. I would expect the PB12 to handle deep bass (<20hz) slightly better than the A3 because of the slightly larger port width.

Something else I should say is that is that it was easier to achieve a good powerful bass sound with the VTF3s placement as opposed to the A3's placement. What I mean is the VTF3 seemed to sound powerful in more places in my room, whereas the A3 was pickier in placement in order to equal the VTF's loudness. But, in the right place, it could be a match for loudness and punch. In the end, I think the VTF3 is a better sub when pitted against the A3, but keep in mind the VTF3 is normally $800 shipped, and the A3 is $600 shipped, so it's not a fair comparison.

As for the major differences between the VTF and PB12, the VTF has an adjustable tuning point, where you can sacrifice overall loudness for more deep bass, and vice versa. The PB12 won't have this, but, from what I understand, it now has a some internal EQing that can be done with it's DSP amp, and also it's digital limiter can squeeze the most out of the driver without letting it bottom out. I'm sure you would like either one, I think they are both fantastic subs for the money.

Well, "Late Q2" came and went... Although I notice SVS removed the coming soon .pdf file for the PB12-NSD...

Does that mean it is soon going to become current stock, or that the whole thing is pushed back indefinitely...???

I've been wanting to get one for a couple of months now. But I ordered an Outlaw LFM-1 EX last week. With the LFM-1 EX on sale for $552 and free shipping right now, it was too hard to pass on. Plus it shipped last Thursday and on my doorstep by Wednesday.

Ya i was waiting too. They removed 2nd q to 3rd q. Now its not listed on there website.

So I bought hsu vtf 3.3 its on sale as well. The outlaw was a tough decision to pass up the sale price is such a great deal. My main reason was deciding against down firing design.

I was seriously torn between the HSU 3.3 and the LFM-1 EX too. I went with the Outlaw because it's down firing. My thought is that it's a little more forgiving for placement. Plus I can just see our dog or one of my daughters friends damaging a side firing sub.

Well the LFM-1 EX arrived today, a day early in fact. I unpacked it and hooked it up, but probably won't have time to play with it until the weekend.

My initial impressions; wow this is a big sub! Very low WAF currently. I always thought my Beta 50's were big, so this should be fine. But the measurements didn't really prepare me. From the little I've listened to it thought, I think I'm going to be very happy.

True, plus you can tell the wife that she can sit a statue, plant or something on top of it. Works great as an end table too.
I was going to, but I don't want it to get scratched up. Plus I'm not sure too many things would remain on top. My 8 year old decided it "sounded" the best while she was laying across the top of it. :)

We watched Cars last night. Wow what a difference.

$552 and free ship...

I wish I could buy 2 and that price...

Instead of the Outlaw id recommend the HSU! I have heard this in their demo room a few times. It is an incredible sub. If i had room for 2 i doubt id be able to find many setups that could beat it, specially for the small price tag in comparison. Ive always preffered front or side firing over down i just like the way they sound, to me a little clearer. Who knows it could very well all be in my head. All i know is that Pete & the HSU crew are awesome to deal with in person & they make amazing subwoofers for every wallet & room!! Just my 2 cents buddy!!
