Are you in the Blu-Ray camp, or HD-DVD camp?

Which one should we be rooting for?

I think there are a few threads on this already. I don't really care which one wins to be honest, as they both look pretty much the same to me so far. My support currently goes to BluRay though.

I'm voting for Blu-ray simply because I have a PS 3. I hate Sony though.

I want them both to die - quickly - so we can get on with our lives and someone can come up with a truly universal solution that REPLACES DVD. Right now they are creating a niche market and confusing consumers.

I don't think there's a noticable difference between the two, but Id rather take the 50gb disc than 30gb.

I think consumers would more likely flock to a disc that's 8cm or so and offers 50gb-100gb. That would be cool.

HD-DVD already announced 50G capability also, just not ready for consumer market quite yet.

Blu- Ray is superior and i love it, but i think both will be replaced by a newer, cheaper, mass storage media like say...jump drives? Small jump drives are getting bigger and bigger, and are very cheap to make. Flash is better than writing to a disc, and offers higher encryption capabilities.

Dowloading media from the web will replace most or all physical media. Get used to it.

definitely behind this one and j_garcia with the growing accessibility of high speed internet and decreasing prices of large hard drives the solution will most likely be nonphysical media.

I am sick and tired of these shiny optical media that can get scratched so easily.

I want something more along the lines of solid state media, that you can step on it, jump on it, throw it out the window of your high rise apartment building, and it will be playable.

I hope they both die a miserable death for putting me through this nonsense. Because of that nonsense, I refuse to buy either............. they can both rot in hell for all I care.

I'm holding out for the universal player.....

I am a dual format supporter!! I have had my Toshiba HD-A1 since last August & my PS3 since launch day!! My Blu Ray's have actually passed the HD DVD's I own!! This comming month is going to be awesome though!! July 3 Dantes Peak HD DVD, The Patriot Blu Ray July 10th, Purple Rain, Deep Purple, Santana, & Yes Live at Montreux all July 24th, July 31 300!! That's going to be awesome!! Also the Jack Ryan Collection which will have The Sum of All Fears, Clear & Present Danger, Patriot Games & The Hunt for Red October which will be comming out on September 25th. Then the next week Ocotober 3rd Top Gun will be comming out as well!! Plus there will be a bunch I will be putting in my Netflix Queue as well to see how they are like Bulletproof, Mystery Men, Flatliners, Arlington Road, Out for Justice, new TMNT movie, Hot Fuzz, Darkman. So It's going to be an expensive year!!

I was supposed to support both. (I was ready to order an HD DVD player as well) but I couldn't find a movie that I'm that excited about.

so I just ordered some blu-ray discs, and I will order a PS3 when they arrive.

so, technically, I'm now a BD supporter.

and I hope Universal would support BD already so I get a full assortment of movie choices.
