Which Yamaha receiver to buy?

Cuurently I have a Onkyo 806 receiver. I believe the HDMI board is starting to go bad. it takes forever for the picture to appear from the cable box. Sometimes, I'll get sound 30-45 seconds before the picture. At times I'll get a NO SIGNAL from the Bluray player. Sometimes when the picture does start I'll get a bunch of green lines across the picture that go away after a minute. I'll have to fiddle with the controls to make it work. I have all new (very good) HDMI cables. The TV works fine when hooked directly to an antenna, ROKU box or my Bluray player.
I'm looking to replace the unit with either the Yamaha RX-V673 or the RX AV-820. For a $100 is the 820 that much better. I will use it mostly for video.
The 673 has really good write ups, don't know much about the Adventage line
Thanks

The upper model is slightly more powerful and has more features, such as 2 HDMI outputs and more HDMI inputs. You can compare for yourself:

RX-A820 - AVENTAGE - Audio & Visual - Products - Yamaha United States

RX-V673 - RX-V - AV Receivers - Audio & Visual - Products - Yamaha United States

The Aventage line has replaced the upper level RX-V series receivers. So there are no really high end RX-V receivers made anymore. And none of the Aventage series are low end models; they start about midline and go up, whereas the RX-V series starts at the bottom and goes up to midline of the totality of Yamaha receivers.

If the money is not a problem, go with the Aventage. But the other one is likely good enough, depending on what, exactly, you are wanting it to do.

If you want it for video, go with a RX A2020 or A3020 so you can get the HQV processing.

The consensus is that the Aventage line is worth the extra cost. I have an A720.
