which upgrade should i do first.

I'm deciding to upgrade my audio system.I have a rx-7520 jvc receiver and acoustic profiles speakers.I paid about 500.00 for them.I was planning to buy a pioneer vsx-1016 tx receiver.help.

Not sure about those speakers or receiver but, speakers, room acoustics and software quality makes the most difference.


What is lacking in your setup now? Or, is it just an itch?

Always speakers... tomorrow will have better new electronics that are cheaper and more fun.

Yep... But when asked which to buy first, then you got my answer... as long as you have an adequate power source, then you should upgrade the speakers.

Thats in addition to the fact that the largest performance gain made is the speakers. However, with low powered amps, you got to be carefull not to clip them.
