Hi: I'm trying to decide between the Polk audio PSW505 or the Energy S 10.3 there is about a $350 difference in price:eek:, with buying a new TV,blu-ray player, money is an issue so will the Polk be adequate in a room 19(L) x11(W)x 8(H) in a Apt. setting? Thanks!

Well all of this depends on how loud you listen placement in the room....carpet vs. hard floors and MANY other factors. The room you stated is a medium size space, but as for the subs you recommended I would strongly suggest you look to SVS and HSU instead. These are both internet direct companies that will give you a product at similar price points that will blow these two ot of the water....

What was your max budget for the sub and then we can give some more ideas as to what to consider....

Besides Chopin Guy's suggestion to check out SVS and HSU subs you might also want to consider getting a tactile transducer if you really want to feel the bass. I use a Buttkicker attached to my couch so I can still feel the bass without having to turn the sub up loud enough to get the cops called on me. Just a thought if your neighbors complain.

My budget is between $200-$400(CDN) after discount.I'm thinking going used also(And hope nothing goes wrong!) Besides the ones already mentioned by me what about a used paradigm ps1000 or PDR-10/12? Or any other brands? Thanks again not in a hurry should be able to buy mid Dec-Mid Jan

its a apartment dont go 2 wild.:)
agreed... I have a quite good setup in my apt and it's always running idle...

pumping the volume = no can do.

so if quantity is not an option, then go for quality. check for the ESW-V8... gives you a lot of quality for your money and you won't have neighbors knocking to your door... (don't underestimate the size either)
