I am building my first HT in my basement. The room is 13x24x8.

I either going with an axiom or klipsch setup but my subwoofer will either be the Axiom EP175 or the SVS PB10.

Does anyone have any direct experience with these subs? Feedback greatly appreciated

thx

SVS all the way, there is no comparison between the 2.

You should also check out Hsu subs as they are in my opinion a great buy

In that size room, the EP175 will not be much of a force. I agree, no comparison. If you were talking about the EP500 (or even the EP350), that's a different story. The 350 competes, the 500 would stomp.

I also agree that you should look at HSU. Good sub!

SV is a solid choice

I like the SV line of subs -- have one myself. But listen to other posters' recommendations, such as the HSU or Outlaw Audio.

Axioms are fine speakers, but I was not impressed with their subs -- though I haven't heard the latest models and I'm sure they've improved. Basically, I agree that with the others that, dollar for dollar, SVs are a better buy than the Axioms. If you have to choose between the EP 175 and the comparably priced SV, go with the SV.
