Which subs are best for me?

Hello, i am wondering which subwoofers would be best for me.
I drive a 96' ford explorer so the subs will be out in the open, just behind the back seats. I mainly listen to rock/heavy metal music and some dubstep.

I was looking at the Kicker CVRs. Cause they dont seem to cost to much and from what ive heard on youtube they sound decent. I want something that will go along with the bass of the song but still hit pretty hard when i want to turn them up. Thanks for your advice!

By out in the open, do you mean free air?

You really need a driver optimized for use in free air, and those tend to be expensive. I think in cars, without EQ, a sealed box definitely works best, and EQ really helps smooth out response.

One of these alpines sealed up should do a very nice job imo.
