I've received some really good advice from these forums so I thought I'd attempt to ask a tough question that I've been having difficulty with.
I was told that one of the most important items in a home theater is the room and its setup. Going with this advice, I've been debating which of my two rooms would be better for a home theater.
Upper Basement:
-I'd prefer to put my home theater in this room because it's closer to the main floor and has a walk out basement with a few windows. I can black out the windows when watching a movie, so I'm not worried about light.
-The problem is that there is some ductwork running through the ceiling lengthwise in front of the TV and front speakers. I'm not sure if this will cause an audio problem that can be fixed.
Lower Basement:
-This is more isolated with one window. There are, however, a couple built-in enclosures for the sump pump.
-I'd prefer to put my home office in this room, but if the theater would be better down here, I'd rather do that.
Note: Both rooms are about the same size and rectangular.
I've attached a couple pictures to give you an idea.
Thank you
