I own the Pioneer 9130 at the moment, payed $350 for it but I'm really interested in the audyssey dynamic volume leveling. So I'm wondering if I could get the Denon AVR-890 for $450 would it be worth the difference or even go as far as the Onkyo 807 for $800?

I know Pioneer is suppose to have a similar feature but I can't seem to find it anywhere in the manual or the receiver menu.

I thought you were gonna forget about auto-setups.. :p I also thought you did find it and was confused about how it set your db's up? Either way.

In all seriousness, I don't care for the auto-cal stuff. Every time i try it, I end up changing something anyways. That said, the receivers you are looking at are nice and I'll never steer anybody away from spending money on audio gear unnecessarily.

If the receiver you have just doesnt cut it or you want more features, by all means, upgrade. Just don't expect massive changes in sound.

I would probably steer you to the shack and get your hands dirty with an SPL meter. Its amazing what you can learn when setting up your own system, and if your married, the amount of respect your spouse will have for you. /sarcasm
