Which receiver to choose? A lot of questions

I'm new here and I’m looking around to buy a home theater system. But now I don’t know witch receiver choose:

I'm between:

Yamaha HTR-5990
Yamaha RX-V2600
Pioneer VSX-74TXVi
Onkyo TX-NR801

Basically the features I’m looking for are THX, HDMI (2 inputs 1 out) and De-Interlacing (480i to 480p) and Up-Scaling (480i to 1080i/720p)

Now I few questions:

1 - THX is really good, its worth my money?

2 - Does De-Interlacing and Up-Scaling makes a good difference or nothing?

3 - I also need to find speakers for it but I’m not looking for something really super great, just something with quality. Any suggestions?

What's a Witch receiver? Supernatural powers? :p

1) Should not be a big part of your decision.

2) The deinterlacer used can make a big difference.

3) Price range?

Out of those, the 2600 got a pretty good review here, so I'd probably shoot for that one. The 5990 is pretty similar I think.

Sorry I think I typed to fast and wrong and I English is not my native language :)

The price range would be something around 1.200

I'd go with the Pioneer 1st, then Yamaha 2600 2nd.

Are you currently in the US though? With that budget you should be able to get some decent speakers.

What I would suggest is that you select your speakers first and receiver second. The speakers will dictate what kind of power you need from the receiver. If you want the best sound within your system budget figure about 60% to 70% of your total system budget for speakers. When speaker shopping audition, audition, audition.

I meant 1200 U$ just for the receiver, my budge would something around 5000U$.
I'm not on USA right now, but I’m moving to CA on may.
Well I don’t have any idea of how too look around speakers. I was hoping to get a few suggestions of 7.1 layout.

If you have a $1,200 budget for just the receiver, go with the Denon 3805.

For what it is worth . . .

The Yamaha RX-V2600 is the only receiver I am aware of that will upscale a 480i or 480p input to 720p or 1080i. If you want this feature then get the Yamaha. If you get another receiver, then a good DVD player will include this feature for DVD's only.

I would say get the Yammi, hands down. Of course, I'm biased:D :D :D

I hate to say it but that kind of question wont usually help much.

Rec..

Hey Agarwalro, is there any particular reason why you recommend the Denon 3805 over the Yamaha 2600? I just purchased the 2600 yesterday for a system I'm putting together for a friend to go with the Axiom M60ti,VP150,2-QS4 and the EP175.:)

For that price you can get a 3806. That being said, the OP still needs to pick speakers before settleing on a receiver/amp.
