I want to get either a JVC RX-DP10VBK or a Yamaha RX-V2500, the Yamaha has prologic IIx as opposed to Dolby Digital EX with the JVC
is this important enough to pick the Yamaha?

The Yamaha has DD EX as well. Yamaha or JVC? Yamaha. All around great unit and makes a super pre-amp/processor when you add a seperate pwr amp if you choose to do so. If you can find a new 2500 it should not be more than $450-$500.

Yamaha receivers ???

Hi everyone !

I am planning to get a Yamaha receiver. The problem is that i can't stop my choice wether on the RXV-659 or the RXV-1700 (or RXV-1600) The price is very different from each other. I have a Panasonic PT-AE900 projector and a Toshiba DVD player (with HDMI) (am planning to change it for a Panasonic DVD player with HDMI). I also have a satellite receiver with component and DVI out. Now, the sat receiver is connected with component cables. Both cables are 35 feet long from my projector to my old mini-JVC. Is it worthy to get the receiver that can manage the HDMI issues. ? Please, I need help.

What kind of speakers do you have? Do you know the sensitivity? How big is the room they are in?

Unless you have some exotic speakers or a huge room, any of these should be fine. How loud do you like it?

Hi gmichael !

I had a yamaha RXV-1070-B before (3 x 135 w + 2 x 40 PROLOGIC) with the following speakers in the same room 12 x 16 feet. My speakers (ENERGY) front (2), back (4), center (1) & sub (1) for a total of 7.

Hi again !

The issue is the HDMI in & out as I mentioned on my previous post. I am currently connected directly to my Panny projector with HDMI to my DVD player. is it a big deal to get a receiver managing HDMI regarding sound quality or I can re-assign the audio from my DVD player to my receiver ?

Sorry to change the subject. My home theater consists of 2 monitor audio s6, 2 sfx for the rears and 2 S2 for the center channels. I have an Onkyo receiver but i'm looking to upgrade. For two channel music I have the S6 hooked up to a Musical Fidelity 3.2cr integrated and an adcom gcd-750 cd player. Does anyone have any experience with Outlaw Audio or has anyone heard the new Adcom receivers or separates? Thank you.
